Greensfelder Design The following samples represent work to which I contributed in my role as assistant graphic designer for Tom Greensfelder (tgreens@earthlink.net) from 1995-1998.
Four-color subscription brochures for the Shubert Theatre (Chicago, IL) In addition to direct-mail promotion pieces like those shown below, design work for the Shubert Theatre also included signage (e.g., for buses and street lamps) and weekly commercial print advertising in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, and Pioneer Press newspapers.
1994-96 Biennial Report for the Illinois Humanities Council (IHC) This biennial report consisted of a four-piece series of CD booklets which where mailed to IHC members in a square, semi-transparent envelope. Original cover photography was provided by Larry Kanfer and Gary Irving. In addition to photo scanning, digital touch-ups, layout, pagination, and typography, contributed design/production work included the creation of several charts, tables and maps. (An additional curiosity is the program listing, "Midwestern Irish Language Initiative," shown in the page spread below. This $2000 IHC mini-grant, for which I drafted a proposal, provided funding for the publication of An Doras—see extracurricular work.)
Book design for Nicole Hollander's "Sylvia" Design for the following two books—Sylvia's 1997 Cosmic Companion (Hysteria Publications, 1996) and Female Problems: An Unhelpful Guide (Dell Publishing, 1995)—is credited to Tom Greensfelder, Nicole Ferentz and Brian Doyle. The former is a paperback day planner, the latter a collection of humorous essays with accompanying cartoons. Design work included adaptation of line art, typography, and pagination.
Two color brochure and original logo design This two-color brochure for the Kevin Connelley Drum Studio in Skokie, IL, included the creation of an original logo design, for which I contributed both creative input and production assistance.
